2026 Summer Music Workshops
in Philadelphia

Camp 1: The Outside Sound

$275 per student

In this three-hour advanced guitar improvisation workshop, Guitar instructor Nathan Hurdle pushes players beyond major and minor pentatonics and into more advanced improvisational territory. Students explore altered dominant scales, modes of the harmonic minor and melodic minor scales, and practical tools for expanding their solo vocabulary.

This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced guitarists who are ready to break out of predictable patterns and start making more intentional, expressive improvisational choices.

July 20 | 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
August 17 | 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Camp 2: Let’s Get Jazzy

$475 per student

In this two-day jazz ensemble workshop, instructor Kiera Sankey guides students through what it actually takes to play in a jazz group setting. Musicians will learn the foundations of jazz, understand the 2-5-1 progression, explore A-A-B-A song form, and develop real-time listening skills that are essential for ensemble playing.

Students will rehearse and perform a jazz tune together while learning how each instrument functions inside the group. Open to drummers, bassists, guitarists, pianists, and vocalists with prior experience.

July 22 | 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
August 19 | 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Camp 3: Polyrhythms for Drummers

$275 per student

In this focused drum clinic, instructor Jessie Wexler breaks down what polyrhythms actually are and how to apply them musically. Students will learn how to layer rhythms, internalize multiple time groupings, and strengthen overall groove and time control.

This hands-on session is ideal for drummers who want to deepen their rhythmic understanding and add more dimension to their playing across different styles.

Schedules: TBD

Camp 4: “Lend An Ear” For Guitarists

$275 per student

In this three-hour intensive workshop, Owner/Founder Daniel Cullen teaches a powerful skill called “Listening With Intent.” This technique trains students to isolate and focus on the specific instrument they want to transcribe within a full band mix.

Daniel demonstrates the listening strategies he personally uses to learn songs purely by ear — without tabs, sheet music, or YouTube videos. Students will practice identifying phrasing, articulation, tonal nuances, and musical patterns directly from recordings.

This workshop is ideal for guitarists who want to sharpen their ear, increase musical independence, and dramatically speed up the way they learn new material.

June 23 | 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Camp 5: “What Song Is That?”

$275 per student

Open to students studying Guitar, Drums, Bass, Voice, or Piano.

In this three-hour listening session, Owner/Founder Daniel Cullen leads students through a structured musical deep dive focused entirely on active listening. This is something we often don’t have enough time for in private lessons.

Students will analyze recordings together, identify instrument roles, break down arrangement choices, and strengthen their ability to recognize musical structures by ear. The goal is to sharpen listening skills across all instruments and develop a stronger musical instinct in real time.

This workshop is perfect for students who want to improve ensemble awareness, ear training, and overall musicianship, regardless of their primary instrument.
